10 New Directions For AEW After Full Gear 2023
1. MJF Signing A New Deal?!
It might've just been emotions riding high, but MJF said the following at the top of the ramp following his main event win on Saturday: “All Elite Wrestling is real professional wrestling”. Is it reading way too much into that to suggest Friedman is more committed to the cause than some of his shooty comments might make us think?
There's been a lot of chatter about whether or not he’ll ink an extension. It's possible that Full Gear's mini-rant was a passionate dropped hint - the kind of statement fans can look back on next year and understand better. Of course, it could've been MJF getting caught up in the heat of the moment.
It happens.
Being able to announce that Max is sticking around for another three years or so would be a colossal boost to Tony Khan and AEW in early-2024. They might even be able to wrap that business up before the end of the year, but maybe that's wishful thinking.
