10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2024

2. Vacant AEW Tag-Team Titles?

Fans are fairly 50/50 on AEW's decision to stick the tag straps on Sting and Darby Allin right before the former retired from active in-ring action at Revolution. Now, after the pair successfully retained on pay-per-view, the promotion has some work to do. Will the champs vacate? They kinda have to.

There's always a chance Darby Allin will put the straps up for grabs in a handicap situation, or something like that, but Tony Khan bloody loves a tournament so that’s another option. Whatever the case, Sting has retired and won’t be there to defend the belts he walked out of Greensboro with.

Tourney time? Possibly.

It might feel like a letdown if Darby swiftly moves on and finds another partner now his mentor has retired. That's a death spot for whomever's waiting in the wings, put it that way. A tournament and BCC pair Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli winning the vacated belts sounds like a decent solution.
