So Bobby Roode has finally shown up proper in NXT, appearing in a backstage segment last night that saw NXT General Manager William Regal cut short an interview to have a chat with Mr. Roode. It has been one of the worst-kept secrets in wrestling for a while, but it was nice to finally see Bobby on the WWE Network (just 9.99 a month).

It's all speculation for now, but Bobby Roode is one of those top-tier talent who opens up a whole lot of creative possibilities regardless of position. If he is installed as a babyface then matches against Samoe Joe, Austin Aries and others will be a joy to watch on the NXT stage.

Clearly however, Roode's best value is as a heel. NXT is really suffering from a lack of heels at the moment, and a performer of Roode's standing will do a lot to plug that gap. It would surprise no one to see Roode established at the top of the card as a heel almost instantly.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
