10 New Directions For WWE After Clash Of Champions 2016

8. Sami Zayn & Neville

While it’s good to see that the company eventually found a spot for Sami Zayn on the PPV, the result of his meeting with Chris Jericho was a little more disappointing. Zayn was pinned clean in the middle off the back of a Codebreaker, in a result that leaves him at a bit of standstill in terms of his future direction.

And in many ways, that’s a statement that you could also use to describe the situation of Neville, who unlike Zayn wasn’t even on the Clash of Champions card.

So if the company hasn’t got any plans for these two as singles competitors, why not pair them together as a tag team? Especially after they showed such promise in their one-off appearance together on the SummerSlam pre-show.

Plus, as outlined in the previous couple of slides, the Raw Tag Team Championship picture could be in need of a bit of a shake-up, or at least a new pairing added to the mix. That makes this something a two-for-one deal; not only would it benefit the division as a whole, but it would be a much more worthwhile use of two vastly under-utilised talents.
