10 New Directions For WWE After SummerSlam 2016

8. Charlotte Vs. Nia Jax

Show me someone who’d tipped Sasha Banks to lose to Charlotte and I’ll show you a liar. Or at least someone must have made their predictions by flipping a coin at random.

In all seriousness, Sasha losing her Women’s Championship to Charlotte after just 27 days was one of the more surprising outcomes of the night. Remember, SummerSlam was the show at which she was originally scheduled to win the belt, making this one all the more unexpected.

Now, Sasha could go right back after the belt, but having just watched months of her chasing Charlotte is that really a story that we want to see retold? Plus, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer has suggested that “she is going to be off for a while” on account of a legitimate injury she’s suffering from.

So where does that leave Charlotte? Realistically, Nia Jax would be the only credible challenger left in the women’s division on Raw. Paige is suspended, Dana Brooke’s already aligned with the champ, and Alicia Fox and Summer Rae aren’t quite championship material yet.

Looks like Charlotte vs. Nia Jax could be our new direction by default.
