10 New Directions For WWE After SummerSlam 2016
2. Brock Lesnar Suspension
Not for the first time, Brock Lesnar scored a major win at
SummerSlam that pretty much puts him in a league of his own.
It may not have seemed possible, but defeating Randy Orton via TKO makes him look even more unstoppable than ever before, not least because of the amount of blood that Orton shed in the process.
That’s not necessarily a good thing for the WWE, though, because where can they take Lesnar from here? Are we really supposed to think that there’s anyone on the roster who can face him and have any kind of a chance of victory?
That lack of a viable competitor, plus the shackling nature of his limited-dates contract, mean that the only real option may be to somehow write Lesnar off of TV for another of his extended hiatuses. And given that he took out Shane McMahon with an F5 to close out SummerSlam, there’s a readymade excuse right there for slapping a suspension on the loose cannon.
Like a couple of entries on this list, it’s not necessarily a brand new direction, but it may be the only real option available.
