WWE's new 'Champion King', proper brand exclusivity and...babyface Roman Reigns?

The 2024 WWE Draft is in the rearview mirror and there are a lot of puzzled faces. Triple H...didn't change too much across multiple nights on Raw and SmackDown. In fact, most of the bigger stars involved in the Draft stayed put on shows they'd already been wrestling on, which hardly made this the most thrilling exercise if you went in hoping for a pulsating rollercoaster of bumper roster changes.

Several notable NXT names did make the jump up though, and one of the best midcard factions of the past two years just got streamlined. Another (more dominant) group could become less prominent week-to-week too, and then there's The Bloodline. They didn't change brands, but it's all kicking off post-WrestleMania for Roman Reigns and family.

WWE has a few international trips coming up on PLE, including the twin King & Queen Of The Ring tournaments over in Saudi Arabia near the end of May. The winners of both respective tourneys will be worth keeping an eye on, because they'll surely end up holding top prizes over the summer. Or, at least, they'll be involved in important feuds.

Here's everything coming up for Trips and company now the Draft is yesterday's news!

10. Triple H Striving For New

WWE's Draft format is boring.

There, boil lanced. It's hardly shocking news to anyone who has paid attention to these roster shakeup for decades though. The current model, which sees various legends or authority figures read out names from cue cards and the tron, is particularly dull. Triple H would do well to liven things up next time he fancies running one of these shindigs.

Some fans have pointed towards the old randomiser/rotating tile look of yesteryear. If nothing else, that did at least provide some intrigue as to whom the screen would stop on before announcing a brand jump. Also, and this is really rather important, it'd be best if WWE moved back to exclusively announcing actual switches between brands.

Hearing that Bianca Belair is staying on SmackDown or Jey Uso remaining on Raw? Lifeless. Things get worse when three of the four picks in each round are staying put. What's the point in even announcing that and pretending it's exciting?

Time to freshen things up, Hunter. You don't have Vince in your ear anymore.
