10 New Directions For WWE After WrestleMania 35

2. Unifying The Women's Championships

Becky Lynch
WWE

Becky Lynch is the Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion.

'Becky Two Belts' has quite rightfully arrived and we can't get enough of it...but where do we go from here?

Lacey Evans, if the events of Raw & SmackDown after Mania are to be believed, but for which belt?

There is much speculation online as to what direction WWE are planning to take with Lynch's dual title reign; will she be defending both titles simultaneously? Will she alternate title defences on pay-per-views? Will she have to compete multiple times on the same night for each belt?

Whilst the visual of having Becky carry both red and blue championships does look incredible, WWE need a plan for her reign to avoid making her look weak, or even worse ruining the buzz that surrounds The Man.

Unifying the women's championships appears to be the most logical solution. We saw in the build to this year's WrestleMania, the lack of viable contenders for titles resulted in matches being thrown together at the last minute depending on who was available.

The introduction of women's tag team titles has stretched the roster even further, and so a unified women's championship would allow for a period of stability for the female wrestlers.

Lynch could be challenged by the likes of (fine) Lacey Evans, Sasha Banks, Charlotte & Asuka whilst the rest of the division were allowed to develop and establish themselves as a threat rather than being 'Jinder Mahaled' into a title programme.

The champion switching between brands to face opponents would keep the title picture fresh, ensure quality over quantity when it comes to championship matches, and rightfully position Becky Lynch as the face of a phenomenally talented women's division.
