10 New Tag Teams WWE Needs To Create

Making the tag team divisions deeper...

Anybody who's followed WWE for any lengthy period of time knows that the company is not particularly high on tag team wrestling. Though there have been brief periods when the division was rich (2000-2001, for example), for the most part, tag teams are an afterthought, just waiting to be broken up. After all, as far as Vince McMahon is concerned, singles stars are where the real money is.

Over the past couple of years, things had started to get better.

The New Day ensured that tag team wrestling was given a solid focus, being as how they were the reigning champions and the most entertaining wrestlers in the company. Other tag teams of different credibility levels gathered around them, from The Usos and The Wyatt Family to Breezango and The Ascension. Not all of the company's teams were marketable, but they made for a deep division.

Unfortunately, the roster split ruined everything once again. Now, Raw only has two believable teams (The New Day and The Club), while Smackdown only has two, as well (The Usos and American Alpha). It's hard to keep two teams fighting over a set of belts.

WWE needs to create more tag teams, and the results are right in front of their eyes. In order to give the tag team divisions more depth, they should put teams together from superstars who are already established - at least to a certain degree. Here are 10 suggestions...

10. Sami Zayn And Neville

Sami Zayn and Neville actually did team up, briefly. Last month, they were in action on the SummerSlam kickoff show, and rumours abounded that they were going to be a permanent fixture in the division. Unfortunately, though, that didn't materialise - Zayn has moved on to a feud with Chris Jericho, while Neville has been absent as of late.

Still, the two men - who famously feuded over the NXT Championship, though maintained a mutual respect throughout their program - could easily be paired back up at any time. They'd also undoubtedly be able to show some of the chemistry they had as opponents while put together in a tandem.

Admittedly, there's a ceiling for babyface teams on Raw, what with The New Day on the show, but there's always room for a pair of such talented high-flyers to make a mark, especially with the TLC Pay-Per-View around the corner.
