10 New Year’s Resolutions WWE Must Make For 2021

1. Commit To A Proper Draft

Stephanie McMahon WWE Draft 2020

Resolution: The WWE Draft will happen earlier in the year and be properly presented as an important occasion.

Why: That 2020 one was bloody awful.

There's nothing thrilling about Stephanie McMahon reading names from cue cards. Where's the drama? WWE's Draft lacks any and all anticipation or excitement these days. Next time, they must commit to ensuring that the Draft has meaning and feels like it'll impact rosters on Raw, SmackDown and NXT immediately.

Scheduling the Draft right before Survivor Series is another blunder. WWE go from kidding on that everything has "shaken up" to postponing real changes until after that pay-per-view. Also, how can workers credibly claim "brand loyalty" to shows they've literally just been shifted to? It's ridiculous.

Moving the Draft to June or July would be best. Then, if combined with more hype and (crucially) more substantial fallout, the thing might become essential TV again. It should really be a highlight of the year, not something everyone forgets about or bemoans after Steph has done some light reading.
