The future AEW World Champion known as Swerve Strickland has always possessed main event superstar potential.

So, when the former Isaiah Scott showed up on AEW programming at Revolution 2022, most assumed the unquestionably talented performer had finally landed in a place that would utilise him properly and help mould Swerve into a top of the card talent.

Only, after a surprisingly effective partnership with Keith Lee, their inevitable implosion and Strickland's heel turn as he unleashed the new Mogul Affiliates faction didn't exactly catapult him to superstardom.

Instead, being the leader of this group of forgettable Rampage villains simply felt like another waste of the effortlessly captivating performer's talents. But when Trench and Parker Boudreaux both went down injured in 2023, plans needed to be tweaked and Strickland soon found himself joining forces with the far more intimidating Embassy faction.

From here, the sinister leader of the now-Mogul Embassy only went from strength to strength as he grew into one of the most unsettling figures on the roster during his increasingly violent war with Darby Allin and his pals.

And both the undeniable chemistry between himself and the always welcome Prince Nana, combined with the visual of the menacing leader being backed by the monstrous Brian Cage and the Gates of Agony, have undoubtedly helped elevate the Swerve character over the past 12-months.

Hell, it now feels like only a matter of time before this cool, bloodthirsty former Mogul Affiliate gets his hands on AEW's top prize.
