Shawn Michaels might call himself Mr. WrestleMania, but there’s only one superstar synonymous with the Grandest Stage of Them All: The Undertaker.

After all, Taker owns numerous Mania records, with 27 matches taking place during a 29-year period (both the most matches and the biggest gap between first and last Mania match), winning 25 of them (also a record), including 21 consecutively (yet another record).

However, some of those records could be living on borrowed time.

One superstar is very slowly creeping up on the legend that is the Undertaker, and he just might catch him… eventually.

Randy Orton will compete in his 21st WrestleMania match this year, which puts him in third place behind Taker and Triple H (23). That means that as long as he continues to wrestle even part-time – and stay relatively healthy – for another seven years or so, he’ll surpass the Deadman’s Mania match record.

The idea of Undertaker’s Mania records falling by the wayside seems insane, but this is one that is actually within reach.
