While women's wrestling in the West has had a tumultuous history, the worst period for the WWE Women's Championship stretches from Madusa throwing it in a trashcan to Lita taking the strap from Stephanie McMahon in the main event of 21 August 2000 edition of Raw.

Every effort has been made to narrow this choice down to one. However, both competitors and their subsequent reigns are a blight on the WWE Women's championship and women's wrestling.

'Hervina' won the Women's Championship in a Lumberjill Snow Bunny match contested in a pool of fake snow. Fortunately, Jacqueline provided a merciful end to 'Hervina's' reign after just one day.
