10 One-Off Wrestling Tag Teams We Wanted More Of
8. Asuka & Rhea Ripley
Asuka and Rhea Ripley put on quite the showing at WrestleMania 37 night two, adding another big moment to each of their professional wrestling portfolios. Going into the match, the two NXT trailblazers had all the support in the world, and WWE fans were eager to witness their showdown at Raymond James Stadium.
What kicked off the feud was a swerve at the end of a fairly decent tag team match against Women's Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax. Rather than despise each other at first, the Raw Women's Championship storyline was more about how confident and competitive both women were. When they weren't preoccupied with the actual wrestling match, Ripley went move for move with her partner in a game of one-up-womanship.
Aside from the amusing banter between the rivals, there were several moments of cohesiveness during that tag match, in which both women's hard-hitting styles complimented each other.
If there ever comes a time when Asuka and Ripley aren't at opposite ends, surely fans would welcome the duo as a potentially game-changing addition to a women's tag team division that could use every bit of help it could get.
