10 One-Off Wrestling Tag Teams We Wanted More Of
2. Kane & Edge
Kane and Edge had one of the oddest feuds in WWE. From 'The Big Red Monster' abducting Lita and coercing her into a dark wedding (miscarried demon baby soon to come) to Edgel kidnapping Paul Bearer and bashing his skull in, there were many reasons to believe the performers hated each other from day one. It was nearly impossible to fathom both men getting along, let alone working in tandem.
Yet, that was what happened in 2002. Kane was at his physical peak, still wore a mask, and was over with the fans. Edge was ascending to main event level, although it involved an uncomfortable run as a babyface. With such in mind, fans rejoiced when the two performers teamed up to face Booker T and Kurt Angle.
Reading the names on paper was enough to convince anyone that the match-up would showcase immense in-ring prowess, but few expected the show Kane and Edge would put on.
Fans knew what Angle and Booker T had to offer, but it was their adversaries who dominated a bulk of the match and showed off their skills. Their contrasting styles blended well in the ring, with Kane demonstrating his monstrous strength and Edge finishing the job with a slightly more technical approach.
It would've been nice to see the duo stick around, but the two went on to bigger and better things. As we know, they met once again - this time to participate in the bizarre storyline involving Lita.
