10 One-Off Wrestling Tag Teams We Wanted More Of
1. Steve Austin & Arn Anderson
Steve Austin and Arn Anderson are both legends in their own rights. Austin is an Attitude Era icon and Anderson is considered one of the finest tag team wrestlers ever.
Although he was still 'Stunning Steve' and years away from becoming 'Stone Cold,' Austin began making a name for himself in WCW and soon shared the ring with Anderson on numerous occasions, with the two men were often on opposite sides.
To the surprise of many, 'Stunning Steve' ditched Brian Pillman and joined up with the Colonel. What this meant was that he had finally joined forces - at least temporarily - with his former foe.
On the 1 April 1995 edition of WCW Saturday Night, Austin and Anderson teamed up together to face Alex Wright and Johnny B Badd in a rather impressive outing. Since we're discussing mid-90s WCW, the finish was a disqualification followed by a run-in, naturally.
Up to that point, all four men put on a suspenseful scrap highlighted by the technical skills of Anderson and Austin coinciding with the showmen-like qualities of their opponents.
For as well as they worked together, it was a surprise that they didn't go on to dominate the division. Then again, WCW had a real push-pull relationship with Austin, and it was likely that he would never find a permanent position within the promotion.
