WWE have a major decision to make, and the next episode of SmackDown should reveal how creative will rescue the anticipated Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn tag match.

McMahon is out of commission after being hospitalised with a serious illness, and that either means Bryan will find another partner to face KO/Sami or he'll go up against one of them in a singles match. Alternatively, WWE may simply go with the match Shane set up to punish the heels in storyline: Owens vs. Zayn.

This is one of the most upsetting changes WWE have been forced into. An Owens vs. Zayn match was never really on the cards; Shane was always going to get involved, and the sweet addition of Bryan being cleared for competition made excitement for the match palpable.

That excitement has been dampened over the past few days.

At time of writing, it's unclear which direction WWE will choose. Of course, they could always hastily elevate somebody to fill the void left by Shane or let Bryan go it alone.
