10 Original WrestleMania 34 Plans WWE Had To Change

3. Jason Jordan Vs. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins wouldn't have been anywhere near the Intercontinental Title scene had his former (short-lived) tag-team partner not gone under the knife to repair significant neck injuries in February.

As much as Rollins vs. Jason Jordan would have come across as throwaway at WrestleMania 34, the Wrestling Observer noted it was supposed to happen. The only silver lining to this particular cloud is that Seth may have beaten Jordan soundly before turning heel and focusing on Jason's kayfabe daddy, Kurt Angle.

That's the kind of match befitting an occasion like 'Mania, or possibly even SummerSlam. Rollins vs. Angle has a marquee quality to it that Rollins vs. Jordan, whether WWE like it or not, seriously lacks. Seth should be counting his blessings here.

When Jordan's neck troubles forced him to undergo surgery that took him out of the ring and off the road well before WrestleMania, it meant WWE had to come up with something else for Rollins to do on the big night. The IC Title Triple Threat situation is a vast improvement over tangling with his former co-champion.
