10 Original WrestleMania 34 Plans WWE Had To Change
4. The Miz Vs. Braun Strowman

Before he was re-written to set his sights on the Raw Tag-Team Titles (hopefully so WWE can introduce Lars Sullivan to main roster fans as his partner), Braun Strowman looked a shoe-in to challenge The Miz for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania.
That match came with a few key issues: Miz, as an insufferable braggart, is the best man available to WWE as IC Champ. Secondly, Braun doesn't exactly need a title to be over. The best solution was a screwy finish that let Strowman throw the heel around the Superdome without removing the belt from The Miz.
It doesn't matter anyway, because WWE changed their minds and installed both Seth Rollins and Finn Bálor as challengers instead of going with Braun.
That, despite the way Strowman is booked undeniably making The Bar look weak, was the best case scenario for all concerned. The Miz will have a sleeper hit Triple Threat against two world-class workers, and Braun's emerging star power will be used to enhance a newcomer's reputation.
Win-win.
