10 Precise Moments UFC Careers Ended
7. Jason High Shoves A Referee
Brought back to the UFC three years after a failed 2010 stint, Jason High came back as part of the Strikeforce merger, but was submitted by Erick Silva in his return bout. Rebound victories over James Head an Anthony Lapsley followed, before High was pitted against lightweight killer Rafael dos Anjos at a Fight Night event in June 2014.
His career unravelled after the bell. High survived the first round, but was punched out in the second, resulting in a TKO loss. Unfortunately, Jason wasn't willing to accept this. Visibly upset, he popped to his feet, then got right in the official's face. The referee put a hand out to keep High at a distance, and the fighter responded by shoving him in the chest.
Caught up in the heat of the moment, High showed immediate remorse for his actions, but Dana White wasn't hearing it. He cut High soon after the event. The debate as to whether or not the punishment was too harsh continues today, but you can't put hands on an official, no matter how soft the blow.
