10 Predictions For John Cena’s WrestleMania 34 Opponent

2. Kenny Omega

Similar to the stress around 'The Champ' perhaps never getting the opportunity to wrestle The Undertaker, John Cena's own crumbling frame may permanently deteriorate before he has chance to go toe-to-toe with arguably the industry's most important performer.

Kenny Omega's next contract renegotiation with New Japan Pro Wrestling could be his last. Re-signing for another year last January, Omega elected not to follow his exceptional WrestleKingdom battle against Kazuchika Okada with a Royal Rumble appearance in the vein of his former Bullet Club compadre AJ Styles.

Things may be different in 2018.

Omega went on to curate one of the finest trilogies in wrestling history (perhaps the finest) against the 'Rain Maker', quadrupling his already sky-high stock.

For the manner in which it draws together the arguable ace of each promotion at a time when WWE and NJPW fans have never been more closely in sync, John Cena vs Kenny Omega is perhaps at present the biggest wrestling match in the world.

Gorilla Monsoon used to spout the cliché about a lousy jobber bout being 'a main event in any arena', but it wouldn't be hyperbole to label the contest with such praise.
