10 Predictions For WWE SmackDown Superstar Shake-Up Tonight
4. The Queen Arrives
Everything about Charlotte Flair’s recent booking suggests that she’s set to leave Raw. Defeated at WrestleMania 33, the former Women’s Champion tapped-out the following evening on Raw, and was comprehensively beaten by Nia Jax last night. If this were the ‘80s, it’d be noted that Charlotte is putting others over on her way out of the territory, and you can probably bet your life savings on her turning up on SmackDown.
Raw’s women’s division badly needed to address its depth problem in the Superstar Shake-up, but SD needs stars. Becky Lynch aside, there’s very little female star-power on Tuesday nights, and the likes of Naomi still have work to do to reach that level. Charlotte, however, was consistently pushed as Raw’s female ace throughout 2016, and should be able to continue down this path on SD.
Charlotte would be the brand’s top heel as soon as she walked through the door, and a great first opponent for new champion Naomi. She’ll also benefit greatly from working with a fresh group of women, having spent much of the past few years wrestling Sasha and Bayley on a near-weekly basis. For those reasons, acquiring Charlotte should be considered a must for Daniel Bryan.
