5. The New Day Go Blue

Kofi Kingston might be injured at the moment, but him, Big E, and Xavier Woods have been at the heart of the Superstar Shake-up speculation. Their names were mentioned as potential trading chips last week, and if they move, they'll be a huge boon to the blue brand’s ailing tag division.

American Alpha have failed as the scene’s top babyfaces. This isn’t entirely their fault, but the crowd just aren’t invested in Jason Jordan and Chad Gable at the moment, and the Universe need a stronger face group to rally around. The New Day are perfect for such a role, and as one of WWE’s most popular acts, they’re an ideal unit to revitalise the scene while Alpha work on recovering their dead momentum.

Though one of the Shake-up’s more obvious predictions, moving Kofi, Woods, and E is one of the smartest things WWE can do tonight. Their presence won’t solve the tag division’s problems in one fell swoop, but adding them would be a great first step. After carrying Raw’s tag scene on their backs for most of 2016, The New Day should theoretically be able to do the same on SD.
