10 Problems With WrestleMania 38 Nobody Wants To Admit

9. The Current WWE Roster Cannot Support A 2 Night WrestleMania

Since the start of the pandemic, WWE has laid off in excess of 200 wrestlers and backstage employees, creating one of the leanest rosters the company has seen since the pre-Attitude Era doldrums.

Gone are former top stars like Bray Wyatt, Samoa Joe, and Daniel Bryan, names the company could have relied on to pad out the WrestleMania card with quality performances that could help maintain interest throughout the seemingly endless 2-night event.

But now, in a WWE where you can count genuine main event players on one hand, there is simply no need for a 2-night WrestleMania. In fact, because of their overzealous cost-cutting, the WWE finds itself in a position where the current roster simply does not support a PPV the size of a modern WrestleMania.

Whether Mr. McMahon realises this or not, he's certainly never going to admit it, and is pressing ahead with a weekend of Sports Entertainment that reeks not of awesomeness but rather desperation. So much of WrestleMania 38's 'stupendous' card is filler and the audience knows it. At least cutting the event down to a one night only affair would only serve to strengthen the show and make the underwhelming PPV much more palatable.
