Crash landing in the WWF in late-1991, Ric Flair was big news following his jump over from World Championship Wrestling, a company many firmly associated as being home turf for The Nature Boy. Immediately, wrestling fans were excited, finally people would get to see exactly who was better, WCW Champ Flair or WWF king Hogan. Plans were put into motion for Flair to meet Hulk at Wrestlemania VIII in 1992, but the match wouldn't end up happening. Instead, Flair would meet Randy Savage on the show, whilst Hogan would battle Sid Justice in a the main event. It's difficult to imagine why McMahon and company didn't go for the biggest match they had, but there are rumours that Hogan vs. Flair didn't do great house show business in test markets, which led to the plug being pulled. Fans would eventually see the two men collide numerous times in WCW, but it would have been a special moment to see them go toe-to-toe on the big stage of Wrestlemania. This is very much one which got away for fans, and the match would never take place on a WWF/WWE Pay-Per-View.
