Michael Landsberg asked CM Punk this question on Off The Record recently, and Punk did not like it. His response was to bring up the WWE, saying
You obviously havent seen some of the guys I was wrestling in the WWE. Yes, Ive taken a real punch to the face.
It's clear as to what he's getting at. Some guys in the WWE work hard. Matches occasionally (rarely these days) turn into shoots. Some guys hit harder than others. Fair enough, but that's not the same as taking a spinning heel kick to the face, or repeated volume punches at full power. In the end, even a guy who is a bit rough in the WWE isn't hitting you with the intent to knock you unconscious. A better answer for Punk would have been to bring up experiences in the gym - if he's had them. A tweet posted a while back along with photos of Punk with MMA training partners suggested he'd knocked out guys in the gym, but whether or not that's legit is another story.
