10 Quick Fixes To Save The WWE Brand Split
3. Start A Cross-brand Faction
Okay, the title of this may seem a little out-there, but
here me out on this one.
In the 2016 Draft, we saw AJ Styles picked by SmackDown and Braun Strowman signed up by Raw. Their partners though, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan respectively, went in the opposite directions. Just like that, two of the better factions in the company had gone their separate ways—but it didn’t have to be that way.
Karl Anderson alluded to this with a post-Draft Tweet about the Club dividing and conquering. So why not build on that seed that was planted and have the Club remain as a two-pronged faction, with appropriate replacements recruited so that the two sub-groups could dominate across both brands.
If only for a brief time it would provide something fresh,
as we haven’t seen that kind of cross-promotional domination since a couple of
Outsiders from the Kliq jumped ship to WCW…
I’m not saying this would be the same as that, given that both brands are in the same company, but it could be an intriguing development nonetheless, and furthermore it would be fairly straightforward to turn this idea into a reality.
