This weeks Monday Night RAW also saw the return of Shane McMahon as a babyface after six years absent from the WWE, swiftly inserting himself into an angle against The Authority. Hell be facing the Undertaker at WrestleMania (!) in Hell In A Cell (!!) for control of RAW. Naturally, this kind of storyline makes no sense: the Authority arent some autonomous dictatorial unit with total creative control over the WWEs flagship show. In character, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon Helmsley still answer to Vince McMahon, who still nominally answers to the WWEs board of directors. If Shane takes over, hell just be in the same position. And, of course, it makes no sense that the Undertaker - a no-nonsense character who actually is autonomous, as far as any wrestler in WWE storylines can be said to be independent of McMahon control - would agree to face a man he has no beef with and side with Vince McMahon and the Authority in a match with a stipulation thats better suited to an upper management meeting with Human Resources. Nonetheless, the match - and the feud - is set. But in these confusing times, the last thing Roman Reigns needs is to be caught up on the McMahon/Authority/Undertaker alignment minefield. Hes a babyface being booed like a heel, Triple H turns from heel to babyface and back again at the drop of a hat, the Undertaker was a heel against Lesnar last summer and a babyface against the Wyatt Family immediately afterwards its exhausting trying to keep track at home, so god knows how confusing it must be for live audiences. Keep Reigns as far away from the Shane/Authority storyline as possible. We really dont need the extra grief.
