10 Reasons Ambrose Vs Rollins Is The New Triple H Vs Michaels

2. Feels Personal / Real

The best rivalries are the ones that are personal. They aren't always over a championship. There doesn't even have to be anything on line. All that's at stake is vengeance. That was the case with a majority of Shawn Michaels' feuds with Bret, Chris Jericho and most notably Triple H. While the World Heavyweight Champion was up for grabs at times, it was all about settling a score more often that not. Even though fans knew HHH and HBK were still friends behind the scenes, everything they did over the course of their feud felt real. If you can't allow fans to suspend their disbelief (i.e. The Bella Twins), then the feud will fail. The blood shed in the Michaels/Triple H rivalry enhanced the realism of it that much more. When Seth Rollins turned on his fellow Shield stablemates, Dean Ambrose didn't just let it slide and move on to other endeavors like Roman Reigns. He prided himself for months on giving Rollins his comeuppance. He stated himself on various occasions he wouldn't rest until Rollins got what he deserved which is why their feud has gone on for as long as it has. Rollins came out on top in each of their three encounters. While Ambrose may be currently busy with Bray Wyatt, expect The Lunatic Fringe to shift his focus back to his former friend at some point down the line.
