10 Reasons Ambrose Vs Rollins Is The New Triple H Vs Michaels
7. Doesn't Need A Championship
The best rivalries in WWE history aren't always about championships. Of course, every Superstar aspires to one day win "the big one," but sometimes an archenemy can get in the way of them achieving that goal. They're not going to despise someone solely because they have gold around their waist. It's more about personal retribution and seeking vengeance than anything else. That was the epitome of what the feud between Triple H and Shawn Michaels was all about. HHH severed their friendship and HBK set out to put him in his place. They'd fight over the World Heavyweight Championship at times, but most of their encounters from 2002 to 2004 were grudge matches. So far, the long running rivalry between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins hasn't been about titles at all. They both aspired to be Mr. Money in the Bank in June, but even after Rollins captured the opportunistic briefcase, that wasn't what Ambrose wanted. If anything, he'd prevent him from cashing in the contract at every opportunity. There wasn't anything on the line in any of their three outings since SummerSlam, but don't be surprised to see their rivalry reignite if and when Rollins becomes WWE World Heavyweight champion. It'll be more of an incentive for Ambrose to finally beat his former friend.
