10 Reasons Ambrose Vs Rollins Is The New Triple H Vs Michaels
6. Ability To Adapt To Different Environments
Gimmick matches aren't always great, but they can be if they feature the right opponents. Regardless of what the stipulation was, Shawn Michaels and Triple H always had awesome matches. Did you know the first ever singles match between Triple H and Michaels on pay-per-view wasn't held under the rules of a standard singles match? It was a Street Fight at SummerSlam 2002! Over the next several years, they've have many iconic battles inside Elimination Chamber, Hell in a Cell and even Three Stages of Hell. These two rivals upped their game (no pun intended) in every stipulation match they squared off in. The first ever one-on-one encounter between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins was set to take place at July's Battleground event, but due to the two breaking out into a brawl instead, it was postponed until SummerSlam. By then, their match was given a stipulation. Most fans were hoping for something special such as No Holds Barred or Falls Count Anywhere but were treated to a Lumberjack match instead. Lumberjack matches are rarely ever good, but if there were any two guys who could make the most out of it, it was Ambrose and Rollins. At SummerSlam, they did just that and had the best match on the card. They'd also have one of the best Hell in a Cell matches in recent memory in late October. Could an Iron Man match be next?
