When discussing Batista's unhappiness with WWE, Dave Meltzer commented that the star hasn't been happy with money. He hasn't earned as much as he thought he would. Part of that could be down to the lack of merchandise WWE made for his comeback. Sure, Batista is a heel, but even bad guys sell big numbers of t shirts these days. A cool t shirt sells, bad guys often have more 'cool' factor, yet WWE failed to really get behind a Batista merchandise line. The company did make an ordinary looking 'Animal' t-shirt, but in honesty, its design was so plain that Batista must have been insulted. Considering that he was first brought in as a face, there seems to have been little or nothing to suggest the merchandising department ever supported Batista's push. He would have made far more money if some time and effort had been put into his range of products available. Ironically, WWE have just launched a semi-decent Evolution t-shirt featuring Batista's likeness. He was wearing it backstage at Extreme Rules. It looks like he might start making some royalty bonuses after all.
