10 Reasons CM Punk Left WWE At The Worst Time

1. He Could Have Challenged Brock Lesnar

The most emotional angle that WWE ever ran with CM Punk was against Paul Heyman. Heyman had betrayed his former protegee at Money in the Bank in 2013 and that moment carried over for the next several weeks on WWE programming. The two men that had been best friends for so long took that out their frustrations on each other with the whole world watching. Part of that feud involved Heyman's biggest client of all time, Brock Lesnar. Brock defended his longtime manager and took the fight to Punk at SummerSlam in 2013. Lesnar won that bout and while Punk's character would surely have welcomed a rematch, it just did not happen. Fast forward just over one year later and WWE world champion Brock Lesnar has essentially no one to defend his title against. Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns are both out with injury, Chris Jericho has left once again and Randy Orton is still heel. If CM Punk had been on the roster, then the company would have had the perfect rematch locked, loaded and ready to go. Who knows what paths WWE would have taken had Punk not left the company. Perhaps Lesnar would not have been brought in to reign as world champion. and that belt would have went to Daniel Bryan anyway. Or, maybe Punk would have been the champion and could still be that even now. There is no doubting however that Punk is still held in high regard by many fans that want him back and are still trying to understand why he left in the first place.
