10 Reasons CM Punk Left WWE At The Worst Time

4. He May Have Toppled The Authority

For over a year, The Authority has completely controlled WWE. They have laid down the law to everyone in the locker room and despite what Superstar dared oppose them, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon always emerge unscathed from every confrontation. The Authority is virtually untouchable and they do not appear to be losing steam any time soon. However, it did not have to happen this way. Every top heel faction in WWE eventually falls and The Authority will be no different. All it takes is one Superstar, one lone voice of opposition to get hot enough to begin a movement that will ultimately topple The Authority and splinter it into a thousand pieces. That Superstar is not Daniel Bryan. Even with his epic win at WrestleMania 30, Bryan was still not enough to end The Authority as Triple H continued to lead his power structure against the Yes man. The argument could be made that Bryan was not WWE's first choice to reign as champion, that Punk is the man that could have been inserted into that spot. If he had been, there is every reason to believe that Punk could have been the one to finally bring the house of cards tumbling down on The Authority. That moment could have came at the expense of Triple H ,who Punk could have beaten in a pay-per-view setting and once again establish himself as a top guy in the company.
