4. He Sold The Most Merchandise Next To John Cena

In his ten years as the poster child of WWE, very few Superstars have come close to topping John Cena in merchandise sales. CM Punk was one of them. He was white hot following his explosive "pipebomb" promo in June 2011 and his merch sales reflected that. The shirt he sported when he won the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank became one of WWE's best selling shirts in years and stayed that way for the remainder of the year. All of his subsequent shirts also did extraordinarily. According to Punk on his podcast, he at one point was out-selling Cena in shirt sales. That changed when he turned heel in July 2012, much to his dismay. Even during his heel run and beyond, Punk still sold the most amount of merchandise next to Cena. So, when he walked out on the company, not only did they lose one of their most successful draws but also one of their biggest merch movers. Still, his items continued to sell well on WWE.com since they ceased to be sold at live events. Punk's merch was removed from the website all together when The Voice of the Voiceless "lawyered up" as said in his tell-all podcast on "Art of Wrestling" when he wasn't receiving his royalties. They reached a mutual agreement a short time later that stated WWE could continue to sell whatever they had left in stock of Punk's items. This was a major point of discussion among the many fans who enjoyed his merch above everyone else's and are disappointed they can no longer purchase it through WWE. At least new t-shirts for Punk are now available on ProWrestlingTees.com and have already become their best selling shirts of all-time.
