10 Reasons Dean Ambrose Is Better Than Roman Reigns
2. Ambrose Is More "Over" With The WWE Universe
The beginning of this year, it definitely seemed clear that Roman Reigns was the most popular one of The Shield thanks to impressive performances at Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble. At Survivor Series, Reigns eliminated four of the five competitors to get the win for his time; while at the Royal Rumble, he set the record for number eliminations in a rumble with 12 (surpassing Kane's long-time record of 11). All the pieces seemed to come together for Reigns at this point, but once Rollins turned on The Shield, the feud between Rollins and Ambrose was more interesting than the feud of Reigns and Randy Orton. Since that betrayal in June, Ambrose has a better pop from the crowd, and you'll also notice a lot more signs for Ambrose out in the crowd too. With Reigns being out of action for a few months now, that will just further Ambrose's favor with the crowd. When Ambrose returned at Night Of Champions, the moment was pretty predictable, but the reaction was big. The fans were genuinely glad to have Ambrose back after 5-6 weeks of being out of action. The reaction on the very next night of Raw when he was hiding under the table concealing cinder blocks was great as well (even though that was a predictable moment). So basically you know a guy is over with the crowd when he still gets a reaction to predictable creative writing.
