It is very easy to see how Ambrose is a better wrestler than Reigns at this point. Ambrose started in 2004, and Reigns didn't start until 2010. The evolution of Roman Reigns in the ring just hasn't quite hit that point of complete super stardom just yet. That doesn't take anything away from how great Reigns looks for only being in the business for four years. There is no doubt, just like his cousin The Rock, that Reigns will find his stride in the ring to be one of the best ever. This upcoming Wrestlemania just isn't that time. Ambrose may look unorthodox in the ring, but it is controlled chaos (to steal the Michael Cole explanation of Kofi Kingston). He is always evolving in the ring with things we haven't seen before, and perfecting things we have seen before. His comeback off the ropes where he looks like he's about to fall out of the ring is an example of something we've never seen before and just looks awesome when he bounces back and lands a vicious clothesline. Then there are his aerial bombs off of a turnbuckle or anything he can jump off off. He puts his own spin on the dive by going completely sideways before taking out one if not multiple people onto the floor. It is the innovation and technical soundness of Ambrose that puts him ahead of Reigns at this point in time. Now obviously the crux of this article was based before Reigns' unfortunate need for surgery, but now that he is out for a few months, the case for Ambrose is completely magnified. This is not at all a knock on Roman Reigns because he is clearly talented and there is good reason that he is being groomed to be the man, possibly the man to replace Cena once he retires. As mentioned before, the thing that almost seemed to be set in stone was that Reigns would be WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania 31. Perhaps now it could be Ambrose's time instead.
