9. Katsuyori Shibata
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnSVNxPgrX0 While he looks deceptively young, Katsuyori Shibata has been wrestling for over fifteen years and is one of the most convincing, realistic grapplers in the world. He first debuted for New Japan in 1999 as part of their Junior Heavyweight division, and challenged for both the Junior Heavyweight and Junior Tag Team Championships on separate occasions. In 2003, he graduated to the Heavyweight division where he continued to rise, coming 3rd in the G1 Climax tournament and even challenging for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, albeit unsuccessfully. A year later, he had an incredibly successful G1 tournament, racking up wins over many former Heavyweight Champions, but unfortunately he was eliminated in the semi-finals He began dabbling in mixed martial arts and by 2007 had left professional wrestling entirely for the sport. His record isnt the most impressive, at 4-10-1, but he picked up some big wins towards the end of his career before heading back to wrestling in 2012. Shibata returned to New Japan better than ever, and picked up his first major accomplishment recently, winning the 2014 World Tag League with his on/off rival Hirooki Goto. On January 4th, they challenge Bullet Clubs Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, in a return match from the World Tag League finals.
