It'd take until after Goldberg's HOF induction speech to argue the ins and outs of Eric Bischoff's decision to turn down pay-per-view in favour of putting a match between Bill and Hollywood Hogan on Nitro. Whilst that July 8, 1998 episode pulled a monster TV rating for WCW, there's no doubt it could have raked in millions for the company on PPV.

Shrewd business decision or not, the World Title win was one of the biggest of Goldberg's career and proved he could draw in fans when dining at the top table. People didn't care a jot that the match was only 8 minutes long and didn't feature any technical wrestling to speak of. All anyone wanted to see was Goldberg blasting Hogan with the Jackhammer and taking home the belt.
