10 Reasons Not To Lose Faith In NXT

3. Kyle O'Reilly's Singles Push

Good things come to those who wait. Kyle O'Reilly's excellence as a singles competitor has never been up for debate, but the former NXT Tag Team Champion is finally getting a chance to show his skills on the NXT stage. O'Reilly may have come up short in challenging Finn Bálor for the NXT Championship, but one gets the impression that this is only the beginning for the man from British Columbia.

NXT fans may have only really seen O'Reilly in singles competition, but the man has a proven pedigree of singles excellence built up over his 15-year career. He is a former ROH World Champion, defeating stablemate Adam Cole for the belt back in 2016 before losing it back to Cole in the Tokyo Dome at Wrestle Kingdom 11. He is also a former PWG World Champion.

Before O'Reilly really spreads his wings in the singles division, there is the small matter of the fate of The Undisputed Era. Long the dominant faction in NXT, the time has come for the four men to go their separate ways, and that alone opens up all sorts of creative opportunities for O'Reilly. The likely route will see Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish turn heel, leading to an inevitable set of matches against O'Reilly. Kyle O'Reilly vs. Roderick Strong? Yes, please.

Kyle O'Reilly's singles push is long overdue, but better late than never.
