There's a fun game to play when contemplating WWE's presentation at present called "spot the giant man who was really over in 2008 still trying to be relevant in 2015." Maybe it's someone else in creative's fault, maybe not. However, the buck stops with Vince McMahon, and with characters with so much upward mobility and fresh personas on the roster, it's ultimately Vince trying to still get tread off of wrestlers who appear to the WWE Universe like threadbare wheels. Sheamus and Barrett as the Money In The Bank Briefcase holder and King of the Ring feel so tired in each of those positions to the point where the WWE Universe is actively not trying to give them a chance of getting over. Again, the idea of Sheamus as a former King and Barrett as a current King tagging and being bully European heels is actually fresh and possibly money.
