10 Reasons Why 2016 Has Been A Great Year For WWE (So Far)
6. Less Focus On The Authority
As refreshing as it is to see the stars of tomorrow take center stage on WWE programming, it's even better that for the first time in three years, Raw isn't all about The Authority.
Although we have two McMahons in Shane and Stephanie in charge of Raw (and soon SmackDown) at the moment, they are much more bearable than The Authority ever were. They aren't opening every episode of Raw. They aren't firing people for no apparent reason. Stephanie isn't emasculating everyone on the roster anymore (with the exception of Charlotte this past week).
One of the biggest reasons why the Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles program was as entertaining as it was, was because it wasn't about who was going to be the "face of the company". Who the heck cares which Superstar is the poster child of the promotion? All I'm invested in is who is in possession of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. It should be that simple, and it finally is.
I may be speaking too soon since the return of Triple H to TV is inevitable, but enjoy the Authority-free episodes of Raw while they last. It's been a breath of fresh air to say the least.
