10 Reasons Why 2022 Is Already Wrestling's Most Insane Year EVER
3. Cody Rhodes Jumping From AEW To WWE
Somebody big was always going to be the first.
A betting man would've scribbled Chris Jericho's name down as the most likely candidate to kiss AEW goodbye and return to the WWE fold. Jericho (at least for now) is staying put though, and it appears one Cody Rhodes will be the first top All Elite name to make the leap.
Pro wrasslin' wasn't prepared for this news. It's all happening so quickly, and there are even reports that a power shift behind the scenes in AEW offered up another excuse for Cody to take McMahon's millions and run. Not that he really needs to justify getting the best deal for him and his family.
This is a dude who helped start the revolution back in 2019 though. Rhodes was once jaded on the WWE system too, and that led to brilliance on the independent scene pre-AEW's rise. No one thought Cody would want to work for Vince again after the f*cking Stardust nightmare, put it that way.
