Nepotism only takes you so far.

Being fair, there was a time when Shane McMahon could be considered one of the most thrilling performers in wrestling. His willingness to throw his own body into harm's way earned Shane a rep as a daredevil, and he did have some of the best brawls around during his prime.

That absolutely doesn't excuse the 'Boy Wonder' for thinking he's harder than Brock Lesnar, or for throwing reported hissy fits backstage when WWE's creative team refuses to make him the focal point of the 2022 Royal Rumble. This senseless power flex led to Vince firing him shortly afterwards.

Yes, Vince McMahon fired his own flesh and blood.

This news was greeted with a collective gasp worldwide. McMahon releasing his son from his contract because of some behind-the-curtain arrogance? Unthinkable, but it happened. The Rumble kicking he gave Riddle pre-elimination instantly became even harder to stomach when the headlines broke.
