10 Reasons Why Wrestling Would Suck If It Was Real

3. Finishers Would Be Useless

Have you ever tried to suplex someone against their will? Because I can tell you from experience, people are heavy!

Yes the two wrestlers in the ring aren't actually fighting, rather cooperating. But it's that cooperation that results in wrestlings most spectacular (and in some cases most basic) moves. It's almost impossible to lift someone your own size or bigger than you off the ground and hold them above your head. And if you somehow pull off that miracle, it's harder still to drop them down on the mat without seriously injuring or possibly killing them.

Every wrestling move depends on the wrestlers cooperating. In fact 99% of the time it's the wrestler taking the move that does the majority of the work. Even non-lifting moves are impossible to perform without the opponents cooperation. If you attempt and RKO or Pedigree on someone without their consent they can just negate the impact by putting their hands down (Triple H actually releases his opponents arms for that very purpose).

If wrestling was real it would be all takedowns and submissions, which after a while would get pretty dull.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
