10 Reasons Why Wrestling Would Suck If It Was Real

2. Death Would Have More Severe Repercussions

Like all competitive sports, death has always cast a looming shadow over wrestling.

Earlier this year Perro Aguayo Jr was the latest wrestler to die in the ring, as a result of a spinal injury when taking a basic dropkick into the ropes. Mitsuhara Misawa tragically passed away after being suplexed on his head back in 2009. Owen Hart's death was not caused from a wrestling move gone wrong, but nonetheless forced an unpleasant spotlight on the reality of the risk wrestlers take to entertain us fans.

And of course there was Benoit Tragedy in 2007.

Procedures have been put in place to ensure every wrestlers health and safety and in 2015 WWE's Wellness and Concussion policies are second to none. But if wrestling was real, I can only imagine the mortality rate of wrestlers back in the early days before all the research and knowledge we now possess. It would be a lot harder to defend wrestling being real if it had resulted in so many deaths. In fact it could have put an end to wrestling once and for all.

The one positive is that it may have finally resulted in WWE giving their wrestlers a reduced schedule and a much needed off-season.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
