10 Reasons WWE Booked Triple H Vs Dean Ambrose At Roadblock

8. The Daniel Bryan Effect

The Roadblock booking isn't all about Reigns and Triple H, and WWE have also done it with a genuine purpose for Dean Ambrose in mind. They want to get him over as the underdog babyface who always comes close to a big win but inevitably loses. Traditionally, that sort of booking can hurt a career but, as Daniel Bryan proved, it can also build to something truly special. That's the hope with Ambrose. Hunter will defeat him, but it only makes it that much bigger when Ambrose finally gets a huge win... which could very well be against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 32. Just being in there with Hunter in a Network special WWE Title match is big, and Ambrose is automatically elevated as a result of the association. His similarities with Daniel Bryan are clear, and that's why this booking makes sense. They're jobbing him, but they're also indirectly putting him over and building to a later payoff.
