10 Reasons WWE Booked Triple H Vs Dean Ambrose At Roadblock

7. Ambrose's Popularity Boom

Also factoring into WWE's booking of this match is Dean Ambrose's popularity right now. He's the most over babyface in the company, and it would have been a missed opportunity to not capitalise on that. They couldn't put him in the WrestleMania main event, but the March special was perfect for taking advantage of his current wave of momentum. It is the traditional booking method for selling shows, putting the number one babyface against the champion heel. Many fans will say that this is what should have been happening as the WrestleMania main event. However, WWE had already invested in the Hunter versus Reigns main event for 'Mania. There was no going back. Ambrose's popularity boom came around the time of the Rumble, when Vince McMahon was already 100% committed to the Reigns direction.
