10 Reasons WWE Champion Brock Lesnar Is Worth $5 Million A Year

6. The Heel Side Of The Roster Is Very Thin

When you take a look at the WWE roster, especially focusing on the top of the card, you really only have four full-time major heels, only two of which you could headline a pay-per-view/special event with at this point: Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. Randy Orton has been spinning his wheels for a while now, and running him on top for a few cards isn€™t going to pop any buy rates. Bray Wyatt has been devalued by his poor booking and has had a lot of his mystique destroyed. Chris Jericho came back for the express purpose of working with and elevating him and then a week after Wyatt€™s big win they have John Cena treat him like a Mulkey brother. Seth Rollins has been absolutely on fire these last few months but he€™s unproven as a draw. Besides those already mentioned, the most effective heels on WWE TV aren€™t active wrestlers: Triple H, Stephanie McMahon and Paul Heyman. That leaves Brock Lesnar. A good babyface is only as effective as the heel he has to work against, and there aren€™t a lot of strong options on the roster right now. Lesnar is such a great heel that he€™s in danger of turning himself just because of how much the fans enjoy watching him obliterate opponents, but as long as he€™s programmed against someone the fans universally love (e.g. NOT John Cena) that shouldn€™t be as big of an issue. With the heel lineup lacking big name star power, Brock€™s presence is invaluable to the health of the overall product. Every knight needs a dragon to slay, and there€™s no more fearsome a dragon than Brock Lesnar.
