10 Reasons WWE Champion Brock Lesnar Is Worth $5 Million A Year
5. Sporadic Appearances Keep Him Fresh
One of the most common complaints about wrestling in general and WWE specifically is that nothing feels new anymore. We see the same matchups ad nauseum with very little variance and it grows tiresome. Its part of the reason why The Shield caught on so strongly; three new guys thrust into a prominent position and booked strongly out of the gate was such a welcome change from the usual same old retreads. You cant really blame WWE for this one, either. Its the nature of todays business model, with so many hours of television to fill, in addition to pay-per-views. The roster can only be so large, so youre going to see the same faces repeatedly, and the lack of other places to work severely limits the talent pool that can be drawn from. Taking all that into account, when Brock Lesnar makes one of his rare appearances on Raw, its a big dealfans dont tire of seeing him as easily. The scarcity of his bookings keeps him fresh, new and interesting and he never has a chance to become old news. Under normal circumstances, such a limited contract would be a detriment to the company who granted it, but in this instance it works in WWE and Lesnars favor.
